Follow the Queen
How to Play
Follow the Queen is seven-card stud with a moving wild card. Whenever a Queen is dealt face-up, the very next face-up card sets the wild rank β every card of that rank becomes wild. The catch: the wild rank keeps changing. Each new face-up Queen wipes the old wild and the next up-card crowns a new one. If a Queen is the last up-card dealt with nothing after it, there is simply no wild that round. Best five-card hand at showdown wins.
A hand, step by step
- Ante. Each of the four players antes $1, so the pot starts at $4. Bets and raises are a fixed $1, max three raises per round.
- The deal. Two cards face-down and one face-up to each player. Highest card showing opens the betting.
- The streets. Three more cards face-up, one at a time, with a betting round after each.
- Follow the Queen. Any time a Queen lands face-up, the next face-up card names the new wild rank β and Queens are always wild too.
- It can change again. A later face-up Queen resets the wild rank to whatever comes next. Track the current wild carefully!
- Final card & showdown. A seventh card face-down, a last betting round, then remaining players reveal. Best five-card hand using the current wilds wins.
