Night Baseball
How to Play
Night Baseball takes regular Baseball and plays it completely blind. Every card is dealt face-down — nobody, not even you, sees them up front. Players flip one card at a time in turn, and to stay in you must beat the best hand currently exposed on the table. The usual Baseball numbers still rule the night: 3s and 9s are wild (nine innings, three outs), and flipping a 4 lets you buy one extra card. Everyone antes $1, and bets and raises are a flat $1 with a cap of three raises per round.
A hand, step by step
- Ante. Each of the four players antes $1, so the pot starts at $4. The dealer deals seven cards face-down to everyone — “in the dark.”
- Flip in turn. Starting left of the dealer, each player flips their cards one at a time. After each flip there is a $1 betting round (max three raises).
- Beat the board. A player must keep flipping until their exposed cards beat the best exposed hand showing; if they can’t beat it, they’re “out” (their flips are done, like three outs).
- Wild 3s & 9s. Flip a 3 or a 9 and it’s wild — it can swing a weak hand into the lead in an instant.
- The “4” rule. Flip a 4 and you may pay $1 to buy one extra card, flipped face-up.
- Showdown. When everyone still in has flipped all their cards, the best five-card hand using wilds takes the pot.
